My Favourite Brisbane Wedding Spots

Ok. First things first. I love Brisbane. And I love a lot of the spaces this city has to offer. As a Brisbane-based wedding photographer, I've had the pleasure of exploring some of the city's most enchanting spots. Here's a curated list of my favourite wedding venues in Brisbane that are sure to please:

The Lush

Think modern, arches, indoor/outdoor spaces, and French doors galore. True to its name, The Lush is a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Brisbane. The space is gorgeous, and the people behind this venue are second to none. It really is a spot that you can make your own.

The Calile Hotel

I mean, really? Is there a corner in this place that does just beg to be photographed. Whether you're planning an intimate affair or a lavish celebration, The Calile Hotel offers the perfect backdrop for your love story. And you can wake up, get ready, get married, dance and start your honeymoon without ever leaving the building.

The Refinery

Best food. Hands down. If you are a foodie, this place was made for you. Next door to one of my absolute favourite restaurants in the city, The Refinery does everything well. Again, the team are amazing, and the space is super cool. A more modern spot than some of the others on the list, and featuring a ceremony and reception area, it’s perfect for a mid-sized wedding.

Rosmarino

Want a European wedding without leaving the state? Rosmarino is a little wedding venue secret that needs to be shared. I would recommend this to anyone looking for an intimate, no-fuss wedding where the photos look good and the food is fantastic.

Bianca

Heading back into the James St precinct, Bianca provides the ideal canvas for crafting your dream wedding. More Italian food, this time with a contemporary edge. It’s banquet-style food, sweeping views, mixed with the city buzz from downstairs; there are few places with a better vibe on a balmy Brisbane night.

Same Same

Right next door, with a similar feel, with different food we have SameSame. A private space, sitting atop the restaurant makes for a great, casual wedding that is honestly, stunning.

Agnes

Want something a little different? Perfect for an unconventional bride, this space is uber cool. The courtyard is a perfect place to say “I Do” and the non-typical views make you feel like you have been transported to another city.

Stratton Bar

Situated in a historic building in the heart of Brisbane's CBD, Stratton Bar looks incredible in photos and has plenty of space for everyone; seriously, the ceiling is something to behold. This would be my top suggestion for people wanting a cocktail vibe. Think greenhouse in the middle of the city… with air-con.

The Gallery of Modern Art

A show-stopper. Either of the two spaces is a feast for the eyes. Surrounded by beautiful art and one of the best views of the city, you can’t go wrong. This is the spot if you want to go big.

Bougainvillea House

Bougainvillea House sits at the top end of the new(ish) Howard Smith Wharves precinct. It’s a more classic wedding venue without being kitsch. It feels classy and has plenty of space to take in Brisbane’s skyline and Story Bridge.

These are obviously just some of what Brisbane has to offer. Whichever venue you choose, rest assured that your wedding day will be nothing short of beautiful. Because, it’s rarely the place and almost always the people that make the moments great and the memory last.
